Portfolio Review - 1:40pm
In conjunction with Photebruary 2025, Farmhouse Art Collective is pleased to announce we’ll be offering Photography Portfolio Reviews.
This is an excellent opportunity to receive guidance and feedback on a body of your photographic work from professional artist/educators at an affordable price. It will be especially useful for those who are preparing to apply for gallery or museum exhibitions, residencies, publication, employment in a related field, or acceptance into a BFA or MFA program.
How it works:
Sign up for a time slot on our website. The cost is $10 for a 15 minute review.
Email us a selection of 10-20 photographs at farmhouseartcollective@gmail.com. In order to receive the greatest benefit, we recommend emailing us no later than February 20th and focusing on a single theme or body of work (two at most).
Include any information in your email that would help guide our conversation, such as your creative or professional goals, an artist statement or background about the images, and any specific questions you’d like us to address.
Portfolio Reviews will take place at Tree of Liminality/Farmhouse Art Collective at 1301 3rd Street SE in Cedar Rapids. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early.
We anticipate these spots will fill quickly, as portfolio reviews typically cost hundreds of dollars. However, part of our mission as a nonprofit is to expand access to creative resources and services for those in our community. The people who need them the most - young artists, students, and members of low income households - are often those least able to afford them.
If you believe in what we’re doing and want to help achieve this mission, consider making a tax deductible donation at farmhouseartcollective.org. You can reach out to us with questions there as well.
We look forward to seeing your work! and providing feedback that helps you reach your goals.
Missa and David both have years of experience as full-time university professors. Their artwork has been widely published and internationally exhibited. They’ve also served on committees that review and make decisions on BFA and MFA applications, artist residencies, and academic/employment positions. As cofounders of Farmhouse Art Collective and curators of Staircase Gallery, their goals are to inspire and empower ordinary people to create and live more creative lives.
