Farmhouse Art Collective is a non-profit community arts organization located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We are dedicated to fostering creativity, community engagement, and cultural enrichment through a wide array of art projects and initiatives. We welcome individuals of all backgrounds and abilities to explore their artistic passions, connect with others, and experience the transformative power of art.

our beginnings:

once upon a time, there was a houseful of creative individuals who wanted art and life to be more like the same thing; to make works that were less like monologues and more like conversations, less for ivory towers and more for open fields.

a shared interest in performance, installation, interactive works, and fluxus led them to adopt the event score as their medium of choice. a desire for a venue that was unbounded and accessible led them to invite others to exhibit at the farmhouse and surrounding two acres that had been their home for many years.

thus a collective was born and their signature event score events started happening. though its founding members have moved away from the property where it began, this has not stopped them from continuing their creative pursuits and the collective lives on.
